Integrated screen test screens for fetal Downs Syndrome trisomy 18 and open neural tube defects. (Measures Alpha-fetoprotein[AFP], human chorionic gonadotropin [hCG], unconjugated estriol[uE3], and dimetric Inhibin-A).
Patient Preparation
Blood must be drawn between 15 weeks/0 days to 21 weeks/6 days based on ultrasound. Physician must complete the patient history information on the request form.
Specimen Preparation
SST, 2-3 mL serum required. Allow to clot. Centrifuge and separate serum. Avoid hemolysis.
Stability (from collection to initiation)
Stable room temp or refrig 7 days. If sending frozen samples, specimens must be frozen on the day of the draw.
