Pregnancy associated plasma protein (PAPP-A) and Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) are measured in maternal blood sample and combined with nuchal translucency (NT) measurement and report is based on these analysis.
Patient Preparation
Blood must be drawn between 10 weeks/3 days to 13 weeks/6 days based on ultrasound. Physician must complete the patient history information on the request form.
Specimen Preparation
SST, 2-3 mL serum required. Allow to clot. Centrifuge and separate serum. Avoid hemolysis.
Stability (from collection to initiation)
Stable room temp or refrig 7 days. If sending frozen samples, specimens must be frozen on the day of the draw.
