Patient Preparation
Male: expose the glans clean the head of the penis with towelette. Female: separate the labia minor to expose the urethral orifice. Keep labia separated throughout the procedure. Clean the vulva using downward strokes.
Specimen Preparation
Sterile container, sterile syringe with needle removed. If voided then collect mid-stream urine.
