Patient Preparation
Patients must be drawn at Regions Hospital.
Collect
5 mL sodium heparin whole blood (green, no gel) AND 5 mL EDTA whole blood (LAV, pink)
Acceptable alternatives: EDTA tube can be replaced with ACD (yellow)
Minimum volume: 3 mL sodium heparin whole blood (green, no gel) AND 3 mL EDTA whole blood (LAV, pink)
1-3 mL will be accepted for patients with blood draw restrictions.
Specimen Preparation
Do not process. Store at room temperature.
