Collect

One 5.0 mL EDTA (Lavender) tube.
5.0 mL whole blood or 3.0 mL minimum.

Must include CBC order or results on a specimen collected at the same time as the specimen for the lymphocyte testing.

Unacceptable Conditions

The specimen will be considered unacceptable if it is clotted, hemalyzed, centrifuged, received in the lab over 72 hours from collection or no CBC results performed on a specimen collected the same time as the specimen for the assay.

Storage/Transport Temperature

Ambient.

Stability (from collection to initiation)

Specimen should be received in the lab within 24 hours of collection. If specimen is greater than 24-72 hours, a CBC result performed on a specimen collected at the same time MUST accompany specimen.
