Methodology

Immunoturbidometric

Interpretive Data

If being used for the diagnosis of venous thromboembolic disease (VTE), a D-dimer result <500ng/mL has a negative predictive value that approaches 100% in the setting of a low to moderate pretest probability. That is, a result of <500ng/mL makes a diagnosis of deep venous thrombosis or embolism unlikely.
