Specimens should be placed in NaHep patient blood as transport media. Label tube with patient information and 'parathyroid tissue'. Place tube in slushed ice immediately and received by lab ASAP. An additional tube of patients blood collected in Green Na Heparin should be sent with the tube with tissue. Please contact 317-491-6000 and ask for the send out lab with any questions. Do not place specimen in refrigerator but get to the IU Health send out lab immediately.
