Collect at least 2 mL in lavender top tube. Invert tube 8-10 times to mix blood with anticoagulant. Send in original tubes. Centrifuge blood for 10 minutes at 1100-1300 g in a swing-bucket unit or 15 minutes for a fixed angle. Transfer 2 mL plasma(minimum 0.5 mL) to an aliquot tube. Label with patient name, DOB, test and collect date. Freeze ASAP. Specimens shipped at ambient temperature MUST arrive at Viracor within 96 hours. Acceptable but not recommended.
