Refrigerated. If transport to lab is not the same day as collected, aliquot the serum.
To aliquot: Centrifuge the sample and transfer the serum into a clean tube.

Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: <8 hours; Refrigerated: up to 7 days; For longer storage, freeze at -20º Celsius. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

tTG-IgA can be used to monitor adherence to a strict gluten-free diet since IgA levels decline in the absence of gluten. To monitor treatment, the tTG-IgA alone can be retested 6 months after initiation of a gluten-free diet and then monitored annually.
