Performed

Monday - Friday

Methodology

Electrochemiluminescence immunoassay

Performing Lab

Chemistry

Patient Preparation

Samples for AMH levels should be drawn on days 2-4 of the menstrual cycle.

Specimen Type

Serum

Specimen Volume

1 mL

Unacceptable Conditions

Grossly hemolyzed specimens should not be used.

Stability (from collection to initiation)

5 days at 2-8 C, 3 days at 20-25 C, 6 months at 20+-5 C

Reference Interval

Interpretive Data

An anti-müllerian hormone value  > 1.77 ng/mL is associated with an antral follicle count (AFC) > 15, and consequently having a high ovarian reserve.

The following results were obtained with the Elecsys AMH assay. Results from assays of other manufacturers cannot be used interchangeably
