Scotch tape slide preparation of perianal region. Send slide in a covered container. Or Pinworm Paddle.
Unacceptable Conditions
Use of nontransparent Scotch tape, tape on both sides of the slide, specimen not inside a covered container, use of frosted slide, tape sent sticky side up.
Storage/Transport Temperature
Internal: Deliver to lab immediately Offsite: Transport immediately to the laboratory.

Must use clear tape. Cloudy or magic Scotch Tape are unacceptable. CAUTION: Pinworm eggs are very infectious.
Notes
Sampling should be performed late in the evening or first thing in the morning, after the patient has been asleep for several hours.
