Specimen Preparation

Mix by inversion.  Specimen should be centrifuged within 2 hours of collection, with a minimum of 1.0 mL plasma in primary container.

2 - Green microtainers (bullets) completely filled

Offsite Collection Instructions

Mix by inversion.  Specimen should be centrifuged within 2 hours of collection, with a minimum of 1.0 mL plasma in primary container.  Keep container upright after centrifugation, transporting at room temperature.

Stability (from collection to initiation)

Room temperature (20-25°C) - 8 hours 
Refrigerated (2-8°C) - 1 day  
Frozen (-20°C ± 5 °C) - 1 month 
Freeze only once

Minimum Volume

1.0 mL of plasma
pediatric: 200 µl plasma

Storage/Transport Temperature

Transport immediately to lab at room temperature.

Unacceptable Conditions

Contaminated, hemolyzed, and improperly filled containers will be rejected.
