Use this mass spectrometry test to measure a wide range of estradiol concentrations. Most useful when low estradiol concentrations are expected, regardless of the patient’s sex assigned at birth. Serum separator tube, lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA) or green (sodium or lithium heparin).
Specimen Preparation
Separate serum or plasma from cells within 2 hours after collection. Transfer 0.5 mL serum or plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min 0.3 mL) Indicate age and sex of patient on test request form AND specimen tube.
Storage/Transport Temperature
Refrigerated.
