Swab (Throat or Vaginal): Preferred: Regular Eswab (1.0 mL Amies) [Cap color may vary]
Also acceptable:
Blue top swab (COPAN with gel) or Red top swab (COPAN with sponge) Urine:
Transfer urine to sterile container (Min: 1 mL) or boric acid transport tube (Min: 3 mL).

Storage/Transport Temperature
Room temperature or refrigerated.
Unacceptable Conditions
Specimen types other than throat, urine, or vaginal. Dry swabs.
