Collection Comments

Invert tube 8-10 times to mix blood with anticoagulant. Process within 2 hrs of collection. Centrifuge blood for 10 minutes at 1100-1300 g in a swing-bucket unit or 15 minutes for a fixed angle. Transfer plasma or serum to an aliquot tube. Label with patient name, DOB, test and collect date. Indicate whether sample is 'plasma' or 'serum'.
