Transfer 5 g stool to an unpreserved sterile cup. Also acceptable: Place 5 g stool in enteric transport liquid media (Cary-Blair Orange Lid Vial). Cary Blair swab in gel is not acceptable.

Specimen Preparation

Transfer 5 g stool to an unpreserved stool transport vial (ARUP supply #40910). Available online through eSupply using ARUP Connect™ or contact Customer Care at (800) 522-2787. (Min: 1 g)

Also acceptable: Place 5 g stool in enteric transport media (Cary-Blair) (ARUP Supply #29799). Available online through eSupply using ARUP Connect™ or contact ARUP Client Services at (800) 522-2787.
