Send BOTH Tiger Top or Yellow Top Ur Transport and Grey Top Urine CX tubes. Urinalysis includes both macroscopic and microscopic if required criteria are met and will reflex to a Urine Culture if results indicate. Comment will be placed on samples less than 10mL. Tiger top urine transport tube can be used for UA ONLY. If other urine tests are ordered, pour remaining urine into a sterile urine container with white screw cap lid.

Clinical Interpretation
Urinalysis includes both macroscopic and microscopic. The microscopic will be cancelled if the hemoglobin, leukocyte esterase, protein, and nitrite have a negative result and Clarity Ur is Clear. Urine CX will be reflexed when WBC is greater than 10/hp f, the squamous epithelial cells are less than moderate/hpf and either nitrite or leukocyte esterase is positive.
