Collection Comments
Ideal specimen collection timeframe is 12:00 AM-10:00 AM for same day results. Specimens collected after 10:00 AM will be tested the following day. Specimens must be tested within 24 hours of collection. DO NOT COLLECT SPECIMENS AFTER 10:00 AM ON SATURDAYS. TESTING IS NOT PERFORMED ON SUNDAYS.
NOTE: Spin urine within 1 hour of collection for 10 minutes in a centrifuge set to an RCF 1000xg at +2°C/+25°C and transfer the supernatant into a low binding protein tube if specimen will not be tested within 5 hours of collection.
The Nephrocheck test system is intended to be used in conjunction with clinical evaluation of patients who currently have or have had within the past 24 hours acute cardiovascular and/or respiratory compromise and are ICU patients as an aid in the risk assessment for moderate or severe acute kidney injury (AKI) within 12 hours of patient assessment.
