Collection Comments

Optimal collection and interpretation should be performed outside of menses. Good collection technique includes circular scrape of cervical os and sampling of the endocervical epithelium for representation of the transformation zone. SurePath vials should be labeled with 2 unique patient identifiers; name, DOB, MRN. Take care to ensure labels placed on specimens reflect accurate identification of the patient by verifying with the patient during collection.
