Invert tube 8-10 times to mix blood with anticoagulant. Centrifuge blood for 10 minutes at 1100-1300 g in a swing-bucket unit or 15 minutes for a fixed angle. Label with patient name, DOB, test and collect date. Glucose values may be falsely decreased when cells are not separated from plasma/serum within 30 minutes of collection.
