BCW now requires: Three x 10 mL yellows acd and two x 10 mL reds from mom, and three 10 mL yellow acd from dad (if available). Do not collect in Orange tube. Minimum/Pediatric Volume: 3 mL Serum and 20 mL Whole Blood. Contact lab at 317-491-6000 or 1-800-433-0740 before collecting. Invert Yellow ACD tube 8-10 times to mix blood with anticoagulant. DO NOT SPIN YELLOW ACD A TUBES. Allow Red tube to clot for 60 minutes. Centrifuge red top tubes for 10 minutes at 1100-1300 g in a swing-bucket unit or 15 minutes for a fixed angle unit. Transfer serum from Red tube to an aliquot tube. Remember to label aliquot with patient name, DOB, test and collect date.
