Collection Comments
Place appropriate order in Powerchart and complete required fields. This test requires a yellow ACD A tube. Collect 8.5 mL blood (minimum 3 mL). Mix tube 8-10 times to mix anticoagulant with blood. Do Not Spin tube. Whole blood sample. This test also accepts buccal swabs and saliva. Remember to properly label containers with patient name, DOB, test and collect date and time. Copies of insurance information must be submitted witht the sample. Send all paperwork with sample to IUHPL Sendouts. Ship room temperture. LabCorp courier will pick up at 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday. GeneSeq samples are stable 4 days from collection.
Ambient: 14 days; Refrigerated: 30 days; Frozen: Unacceptable
If Buccal or Saliva: 60 days at room temperature
