Acceptable: nasopharyngeal swab in viral/universal transport medium.

Note: for instances where a nasal or NP swab cannot be collected due to facial trauma, etc, it is acceptable to collect an oropharyngeal swab. Ensure swab is labeled as oropharyngeal, and Order Comment made as to oropharyngeal source.
