Buccal Swab Collection Instructions: Collect tissue by rolling the Buccal Swab firmly on the inside of the cheek, approximately 20 times on each side, making certain to move the swab over the entire cheek. 4 swabs should be collected per individual. Allow swabs to air dry for 10-15 minutes at room temperature. Return the dry swabs to their plastic sleeves and send to the laboratory.
Unacceptable Conditions
Samples older than 72 hours.
Mislabeled samples: Samples must be labeled with at least two different patient identifiers, date & time of collection, and collector's name.
