Remarks

No addtional considerations for this assay.

Patient Preparation

No additional special requirements.

Methodology

Quantitative Transcription-Mediated Amplification.

Test Components

HCV Quant by NAAT (IU/mL).
HCV Quant by NAAT (log IU/mL).
HCV Quant by NAAT Interpretation.

Performed

Mondays and Thursdays only: 7:30AM.

Turnaround Time (TAT) Reported

1 - 4 days.

Performing Laboratories

Core Laboratory.

Synonyms

  • HCV Quantitative
  • HCV Quantitative TMA
  • HCV Viral Load
  • Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT)
  • HCV monitoring
  • Hep C Quant

Interpretive Data

Normal range for this assay is "Not Detected".
The quantitative range of this assay is 10 - 100,000,000 IU/mL (1.0 - 8.0 log IU/mL).
A result of "Not Detected" does not rule out the presence of inhibitors in the patient specimen or hepatitis C virus RNA concentrations below the level of detection of the test. Care should be taken when interpreting any single viral load determination.

Reference Ranges

Not Detected.
