Vaginal or Cervical specimen with Cobas PCR Female Swab Sample Packet.
GC/Chlamydia URINE PCR
First Urine Catch with Cobas PCR Urine Sample Packet. Unpreserved first catch urine is only acceptable if less than 24 hours old.
Unpreserved first catch urine greater than 24 hours old.
Urine specimens with the liquid level either above or below the two black lines on the Cobas PCR media tube label window.
Specimens in any transport media other than Cobas PCR media.
Frozen specimens.
Storage/Transport Temperature
Room Temperature or Refrigerate 2°C to 30°C. Do not freeze.
Stability (from collection to initiation)
2°C to 30°C for up to 12 months.
Notes
Urine is the only acceptable specimen type for male patients. Male urethral swabs are NOT FDA approved by this method.
This test is not intended for use with throat, rectal or other sources/specimen types not listed above.

This test should not be used to determine therapeutic success as nucleic acids may be present after antimicrobial therapy.
